Old Photos in Need of Identification

The photos below were found in the garage storeroom of Palmer H. Olsen (my grandfather) in Clifton, Bosque County, Texas. He didn't know what there were or where they came from. A few of them have names on the back which I presume were some of the person(s) that lived in the house, but I cannot be absolutely sure. Some even have addresses. Based on some limited research of census records, I believe the photos were taken sometime between 1880 and 1886 in the Dallas area. If you can confirm my conjectures or identify any of them, please contact me. Bruce Wiland (wiland@att.net).

I believe the handwriting says "43 D. W. C. Smith, C. H. Huffman, 729 Elm" and that this is in Dallas. There is a C. H. Huffman and D. W. C Smith on the 1880 census record (see line 27 and 28). The census seems to indicate that they are living on Commerce Street. However, I find it hard to believe that this house could have been in downtown Dallas at that time.

I believe the handwriting says "72 E. P. Bryan, 515 Elm St., Grocery" and that this is in Dallas. There is an E. P. Bryan shown on the 1880 census record (see line 45) and living on North Elm Street. However, I find it hard to believe that this house could have been in downtown Dallas at that time.
